I was motivated to release another album before the birth of my daughter, so I decided to make Great Unknown in the fall of 2009. With ambition, confidence, and some borrowed gear for the home-studio, I enlisted former bandmates for full-band instrumentation on my new batch of songs. On a tight schedule, it took amazing musicianship (thanks again, guys!), focused and persistent sound engineering, the patience (and guest vocals) of my very pregnant wife, a few vacation days from work, and a lot of luck and love to complete. I released it on December 5th, 2009 (a mere three weeks before Emma was born!).
